Individual On-Camera Coaching
Due to the pandemic, I've suspended all of my in person workshops and will be offering them via ZOOM. Individual coaching is still available either in person or via ZOOM. Obviously, in person workshops are preferred and can offer a more dynamic experience. However, if you're trying to do more on-camera acting, why not try on-camera learning!!
Are you interested in developing acting skills to gain confidence, land auditions and impress agents and clients?
A series of sessions are designed specifically for each individual actor based on his or her unique talents, interests and goals. Each one or two-hour session will include warm-ups, cold reads and memorized script work with all exercises being videotaped and reviewed.
The majority of individual coaching and workshops are conducted at Bill's acting studio near downtown Minneapolis. The large studio is conveniently located with free parking. Remote coaching and workshops can be arranged.
The cost for individual coaching is $35/hour. You can pay using the form at the bottom of the page. The potential topics are listed below:
The Business of Acting
Understanding the talent business and having the best possible marketing materials are the first steps to being a successful actor or model. Students get assistance with image/wardrobe, headshots, resumes, demo reels, websites, unions and taxes
Often actors get their start doing television commercials. Students will perform a series of memorized real person, spokesperson and non-speaking commercials and public service announcements to prepare them for auditioning and landing those lucrative talent projects.
Being hired to perform in industrial/corporate training and marketing projects may not be the most glamorous work, but these projects can be interesting and pay well. Adult students can learn about the unique skills necessary for being an effective spokesperson or host including using an earprompter or teleprompter.
Other topics for coaching sessions include recording auditions, monologues, audition techniques, cold reading, communications, interviews, voice-overs, voice and diction and basic modeling (print and runway.)
The talent business is evolving. The request for more virtual/self-tape auditions and a stronger need for reels is ever expanding. Assistance with recorded auditions and reels can be part of the coaching process. Includes coaching and production support.
As we continue to face the challenges of the covid pandemic, online coaching is a safe alternative to in-person session at my studio. These coaching sessions will be conducted on ZOOM and segments can be recorded for review. Actors who live a long distance from the Twin Cities may consider this option.
